Melba Williams Obituary
She was born in Engelhard, North Carolina, and she was a daughter of the late Prentice Whitfield and Mary Spencer. Melba graduated from Davis High School and spent her life's work as a homemaker to her husband, children and grandchildren.
Melba was of the Baptist faith, enjoyed sewing, photography, online shopping, spending time playing solitaire on her phone and I Pad and cherished the time she spent playing cards with her family.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents was her husband, Carrington E. Williams on November 22, 2020, and a daughter, Brenda Jennette.
Surviving are her children, Jamal Y. Williams and his companion, DeeDee of Tobyhanna, Vandell Williams of Bronx, New York, Leroy Jennette and his wife, Dorothy of Elgin, Illinois, Anthony Jennette of Waterbury, Connecticut, Randall Jennette, Sr., of Tobyhanna, and Shirley East of New York, grandchildren, Tenica Jennette, Randall Jennette, Jr., Samantha Jennette, Ryan Jennette, Elizabeth Jennette, Ashley Robinson, Dawann Jennette, Ryan Jennette, Dakota Rivers, Shirldae East and Mecca East, great grandchildren, and brother, George Spencer and his wife, Beverly Howard of Greenville, North Carolina, dearest friends, Myrtle Simmons and Betty Lewis, and extended family members.
Melba's funeral service will be held on Tuesday October 21. 2025 at 12:00 P.M. in the Full Gospel Holiness Church of God in Christ, 167 Summit Avenue, Pocono Summit. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Pine Grove Road, South Sterling.
A public visitation will be held on Tuesday October 21, 2025, from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the church.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Yanac Funeral & Cremation Service, Inc. 35Sterling Road, Mount Pocono, where online condolences can be shared at www.yanacfuneralhome.com

On behalf of my family (Wilson) we want to express our heartfelt condolences on your loss. Please know that Kenneth & I are keeping you close in our hearts and prayers during this difficult time. I have memories of visits with Aunt Melba in New York and her visits to Georgia. My mother, her sister, passed in 2009 and my father, her brother-in-law, passed in 2022. I understand the grief that comes with a dear ones passing. May you find peace and comfort in the love of those around you and in the beautiful memories you shared.
