Harriet Planchock Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Yanac Funeral & Cremation Service, Inc. on Dec. 28, 2025.
Harriet A. Planchock, 97, of Pocono Summit, passed away Wednesday evening December 24, 2025, at her home in Pocono Summit while under the care of St. Luke's Hospice.

Harriet was born in Brooklyn, New York on June 10, 1928, a daughter of the late Frank and Anna (Fronczak) Kusiak. She was educated in the New York City School system and spent her life as a housewife and homemaker to her husband, children, and grandchildren.

She was member of the former St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church in Pocono Summit, and enjoyed bingo, trips to the casino, crocheting doilies and afghans, puzzles and word searches. We called her the pied piper because any time she would bake her famous cream puffs and cakes for the fire hall dinners or to sell at the picnics, she would have a line of people following her to buy or sample her goods. Her most famous sayings were "Don't get old" and "Your father's got a mustache 10 feet long". The best one was "Life's a bowl of cherries – you take the good with the bad".

Preceding her in death in addition to her parents was her husband, George Planchock Sr., grandson, E. Brian Davis, brother, Frank Kusiak, and sister, Jennie McKnight.

Surviving is her daughter, Joan Davis and her husband Edgar, son, George Planchock Jr. and his wife, Theresa, all of Pocono Summit, grandchildren, Melanie Davis, Jessica Planchock, Erica (Planchock) Bingler her husband, Blake, great-grandchildren, Nicole Romano, Daniel Davis, Brody Bingler and Cally Bingler.

Graveside service will be held on Thursday January 8th, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. in St. Catherine Cemetery, 1247 Drinker Turnpike, Covington Twp.
