Barbara Ann DeCaro (nee Stilwell), 76, of Orangeburg, NY, formerly of Hillsdale, NJ, passed away on Monday, January 6th, 2025. She was predeceased by her parents, Irwin and Anna (nee Kiely) and her brother Philip.
Beloved wife of Laurence. Proud mother of her sons Laurence Jr. and Scott Andrew, and their wives Nicole and Alisha. Cherished Mimi to Antonina, Luca, Nicolas, Dominic, and Adrianna.
Barbara Ann was born in New York City on March 15, 1948 and grew up in River Vale, NJ where she attended Pascack Valley High School. She obtained both her Bachelors and Masters in Education at Montclair State University. Following college, Barbara Ann married her husband Laurence and moved to Hillsdale, NJ where they raised their two sons. She taught Physical Education & Health for over 30 years at Pascack Hills High School in Montvale, NJ and volunteered her time in numerous programs through the community, including the Hillsdale Board of Health where she served for over 25 years.
She loved tennis, traveling the world, and spending time with all her family and friends. We rejoice in knowing that she is now in the everlasting arms of Christ and her loving presence remains with those that were touched by her grace. May she rest in eternal peace.
For those who wish to honor her memory, donations can be made to the Cure Alzheimer's Fund at www.curealz.org.

Went to school with Barbara from Kindergarten through high school. We were always friends. We started racing each other everyday during recess beginning in Kindergarten through 8th grade, and she always won.

Barbara was a beautiful person. She was my cousin. Smart, kind, funny, great conversationalist and listener, and a generous heart. I really got to known Barbara as an adult in my thirties and have know her thirty years now. I have always wished it was longer but I am grateful to God for the better half of my life knowing her.
She was part of a cousin group that I put together and we enjoyed a night out in NYC enjoying her company, dinner and a concert. We saw both Andrea Bocelli and Barbara Streisand together. We had fun.

The Kiely family always enjoyed her presence at family gatherings. She beamed when speaking of her sons and daughter-in-laws, but especially the grand kids.

I know she is in a better place with God. Grateful to have had those special fond memories. Rest in peace my beautiful cousin.
