Barbara P. Decker

Age 80 passed away peacefully on Monday, October 17, 2022. Born and raised in Chicago, raised her family in Dolton. She was employed by School District 205 as the cafeteria manager for many years, retiring in 1997. Member of IKES and Immanuel Bethel Church in Dolton and dedicated Girl Scout leader. Barb loved reading and watching her grandchildren play ball, but most of all, she cherished time spent with her family. Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronald John Decker Sr.; her son, Ronald John Decker Jr.; parents, William and Loretta (nee Wertheimer) King; one sister, Nancy Swanson; nephew, William Swanson; brother-in-law, Robert Decker. Survived by two devoted children, Pamela (Thomas) Salutric and Richard (Jennifer) Decker; daughter-in-law Beverly Decker; adored by her eight grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Alzheimer's Association in Barb's name would be greatly appreciated. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, October 24, 2022, 11:30am at Peace Lutheran Church, 1900 E. Lincoln Hwy, New Lenox, IL 60451. Interment immediately following at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood.
