Barbara Delaney Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Goldfinch Funeral Home - Conway Chapel on Jan. 4, 2026.
Barbara Delaney, 87, passed away peacefully at her home in Conway, South Carolina, on January 1, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease.

Born in Edgewood, Maryland, in 1938, Barbara lived a life rooted in love, faith, and devotion to her family. She married her late husband, Jim Delaney, in 1959, and together they built a warm and welcoming home. In 1995, Barbara and Jim retired to Conway alongside their close family friends-the Williams, Dykes, and Ellis families-where they found a joyful and supportive community.

Barbara is survived by her daughters, Carly Schwartz and Brenda Winter, and her son, Craig Delaney. She is also survived by her sister, Ann Marie Pax. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Bruce Stolba and Rob Stolba.

She was a loving grandmother to Bryan Schwartz, Heleena Denison, James Winter, Glenn Schwartz, Claire Delaney, Andrew Delaney, and Conner Delaney, and a proud great grandmother to Peter Denison. Her family was her greatest joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

During her years in Myrtle Trace, Barbara enjoyed golf, bowling, and countless gatherings with neighbors who became lifelong friends. She lived a faith centered life and was an active member of St. James Catholic Church, where she found community, purpose, and spiritual strength.

Services are scheduled for 9:00 am Monday, February 16, 2026 at St. James Catholic Church in Conway, SC.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that memorial gifts be made to the Alzheimer's Association, in honor of Barbara's life and legacy.
