Barbara Dick Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Waite Funeral Home Brunswick on May 6, 2023.
Barbara Ann Dick, 61, passed away peacefully on the evening of May 4, 2023. She was born in Cleveland on November 21, 1961, one of four children born to the late William and Loretta (nee Changeri) Cunningham. Barb was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was truly the matriarch of her family. She was decisive and "no-nonsense," driven, and caring but stern. She wanted nothing more than for her children to reach their full potential, and their lives are a testament to her strong and loving guidance. She took an active role as team mom for numerous sports teams, running fundraisers for her kids' soccer, football, and volleyball teams. More than anything, Barb loved taking care of people. She was known and loved by many, and her loss leaves a void in the lives of all who were privileged to know her.
Barb's memory will be cherished by her husband of 39 years, Edward A. Dick; children, Edward J. (Diane) Dick, Jeremy (Lacey) Dick, and Laura (Levi) Hale; grandchildren, Edward T. Dick and Autumn Dalton; brothers, Joseph Cunningham and Thomas (Brenda) Cunningham; sister, Shannon (Matt) Harvey; and too many nieces and nephews to count. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Loretta Cunningham.
Barb's family will welcome guests from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday, May 8, 2023, at Waite & Son Funeral Home, 3300 Center Road, Brunswick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 am on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at St. Ambrose Catholic Parish, 929 Pearl Road, Brunswick. Following Mass, Barb will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery in Valley City.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Barb's name to Thomas P. Perciak Family Residential Hospice.
Please share condolences and memories on Barb's tribute page at www.waitefuneralhome.com.

We feel her life was cut short but God´s plan is not ours. We were neighbors of the Dick family growing up on James Way and got to know Barb when our kids started playing soccer. A funny, happy lady with the light of our Lord in her. Prayers for peace and comfort to all who love her. David and Terry (Hooker) Kaminski

I am so sorry to hear about Barb. She always had a smile on her face. She was helpful with Cross County Youth Football and what I saw was an awesome mom who supported her kids. Hugs to all of you
