Barbara Anne DiSalvo

It is with deep sadness and abiding love that we share the passing of Barbara Anne DiSalvo, who left us on September 20, 2025, at the age of 79 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Barbara was born on December 29, 1945, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Alexander and Yolanda (née Gaimari) Derrico. She grew up in the Bronx and Bellmore, N.Y., as the eldest of three children. From an early age, she cared deeply for her parents and her brothers, Alexander and Carmine, offering them her steadfast love and unwavering support throughout her life.
While attending Wellington C. Mepham High School in Bellmore, Barbara met the love of her life, Charles DiSalvo. They married and shared 62 wonderful years together. She often said that 17 was her favorite age, because that was the year she fell in love with "My Charlie."
Barbara's greatest joys came with the births of her son, Robert Charles, whom she lovingly called "my heart," and her daughter, Alexis Anne, "my best friend." She poured her devotion into her family, creating a home that overflowed with warmth and togetherness. That home was filled with the scent of her delicious meals, the laughter of holiday gatherings, the excitement of football Sundays, and the comfort of classic movie marathons. Above all, it was a home of endless hugs and shared stories - a place where everyone felt loved.
Barbara is survived by her devoted husband, Charles; her son Robert and his wife Dawn; her daughter Alexis and her husband Dino Sigalas; her cherished grandchildren, Dylan (fiancée Alexis Kacklik), Jared, Jocelyn, Brayden, and Tristan; and her great-granddaughter, Romee Jade.
She was predeceased by her parents, Alexander and Yolanda, and her brother Alexander.
In honor of Barbara's generous spirit, the family asks that donations be made in her memory to Treasure Coast Hospice of Martin County, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
Barbara's life was a testament to love - love of family, love of tradition, and love that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She is present whenever you see a rainbow or a beautiful sunset. "Death leaves a heartache no one can heal; love leaves a memory no one can steal."
