EAST GREENBUSH - It is with broken hearts that we announce the death of our mother, Barbara V. Donahue, who passed on Thursday, October 31, 2024.
Barbara was raised in Petersham, Mass. She attended Petersham High School, where she was first in her class. She continued her education attending Worcester City Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1956. Barbara was a dedicated registered nurse for 40 years. She worked at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Albany Medical Center, Memorial Hospital and St. Peter's Hospital. She possessed all the skills and qualities that made her an outstanding, caring, nurse.
Barbara raised seven children and ensured we always felt safe, secure, special and loved. She was happiest when she was with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her seven children, nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be private, at the convenience of her family.
While she would have appreciated all of the kind words, she would much rather for people to spend time with their loved ones, read something interesting, take their dog for an extra-long walk, contemplate a new idea, or fairly consider the other side's position.
