Barbara Dossey Obituary
Barbara Frances (Sease) Dossey, 94, of Marion, went to Heaven on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, surrounded by her loving family in her home. She was born in Morris, Illinois, on December 4, 1926, to Logan and Martha Sease.
Barbara was a very special, kind, and beautiful person who loved God. Family was everything to her. Spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren brought her great joy. She also enjoyed spending every day with her beloved dog, Mattie. Barbara was a Colts fan and enjoyed doing ceramics and word search puzzles.
We will miss her so very much, but she has left us so many cherished memories from her 94 years of life that will stay with us forever.
A very special thank you to Janelle and Tara from Hospice who brought comfort to our mom in her final days. No words can ever express the gratitude and appreciation our family has for you both.
Barbara is survived by her children, Nancy (Pete) Van Cleave, Mark (Carolyn) Dossey, Lisa (Linda Conaway) Dossey, and Lori (Bill) Swanson; daughter-in-law, Lorinda Dossey; grandchildren, Matt (Amanda) Dossey, Chad (Ashley) Dossey, Patrick Duffy, Collin Duffy, Jessica (Kyle Staton) Dossey, Truman (Ashley) Hawkins, Alicia Manzo, and Glenn Swanson; 19 great-grandchildren; and her best furry friend, Mattie.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Willis Dossey; parents, Logan (Martha) Sease; sons, Gary Dossey and Randall Dossey; and grandson, Jeremy Hawkins.
The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Monday, October 4, 2021, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a funeral service to celebrate Barbara's life will begin at 1:00 pm. Pastor Margie Vandergraff will be officiating with burial taking place at Park Lawn Cemetery in Amboy.
