Barbara Duva Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals - Toms River at Fischer Blvd. on Jan. 19, 2026.
Barbara A. Duva, 86 of Toms River, passed from this life peacefully at her home on Thursday, January 15, 2026. Barbara was born May 14, 1939, in Jersey City to the late Vincent and Nancy Juliano. She was a loving wife, devoted mother, and grandmother, who always put Family before herself. Faith and religion were especially important to her as a member of St. Justin the Martyr RC Church and was a longstanding member of the choir. This devotion to her Faith, Family & Creativity were apparent in multiple pursuits: volunteering for many Parish activities; early efforts with the Search Program & Pre-Cana; Oil Painting and Ceramics. She was also known to have a very strong devotion to St. Anthony.

Barbara will be remembered for her sweet disposition, welcoming and warm nature, and her ability to unite family and friends. Always wanting to bring a smile to someone's face, she was at home anywhere and loved to make people laugh, meeting and greeting both new acquaintances and old friends alike. She was a master of weaving magical experiences for the Christmas holidays, and her favorite, her "Cousin Parties", stretching from Cliffside Park, to Edgewater, North Bergen, and finally Toms River.

An avid New York Yankees and New York Giants fan, her other passion would be cheering on her family's teams, of course while satisfying her family's hunger.

Barbara is predeceased by her parents, Vincent Juliano; Nancy DeFillippo; husband, Edward Duva and brother, Vincent Juliano Jr.

Barbara is survived by her sons, Robert Duva and his wife Carrie; Greg Duva and his wife Patricia; Michael Duva and his Partner, Kathleen Chavez; grandchildren, Lindsay Duva and Zachary Duva.

The family will receive friends and relatives on Monday, January 19, 2026, from 4pm to 8pm at Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 995 Fischer Blvd., Toms River. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10am, Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at St. Justin the Martyr RC Church.

All Committal Services will be held privately.
