Obituary published on Legacy.com by Crowell Brothers Funeral Homes & Crematory - Peachtree Corners Chapel on Jan. 10, 2025.
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Barbara Cheryl Eason King, who left this world on Monday, January 6, 2025, at the age of 60 at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital with her family by her side.
Born on February 29, 1964, in Baxley, Georgia, to her parents, Harold Eason and the late Barbara Cheryl Courson Eason, Barbara lived a life marked by love, dedication, and faith.
Barbara was a cherished wife to Reverend Dean King for 32 beautiful years and a devoted mother to her beloved daughter, Olivia Grace King. Barbara's family was the cornerstone of her life, and she poured her heart into nurturing and guiding them.
A respected professional, Barbara worked for major Christian record labels, where she skillfully influenced and inspired those around her. She served as Director of Radio Promotions for Benson Records, where she achieved numerous #1 radio hits and top ten songs for various artists. She later served as a Director of Marketing on the Provident Music Group Family of Labels team that represented Reunion Records, Benson Records, and Diadem Records artists including Michael W. Smith, Clay Crosse, Kathy Troccoli, NewSong, and Bob Carlisle. In the past few years, King founded her own marketing agency and worked with the American Marketing Association.
Her dedication extended beyond her career, as she was an active member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church for the past ten years and attended Faith Baptist Church in Monroe, Georgia. Barbara found great joy in studying the Bible and was passionate about ministering to others, striving to uplift and encourage people along their faith journeys. She recently wrote on her Facebook page: "God draws near to us when our eyes get off Him and onto our circumstances. Every day is a gift. We are allowed one more time to get it right and do the things God has called us to do and not get caught up in our selfish behavior and desires. This morning I was realizing the cost the disciples gave to obtain that trust in God. I would like to be there at some point in the legacy of my life, but I am not sure what brings forth such trust and understanding. I am grateful for each day to live more fully for God."
Preceding Barbara in death was her mother, Barbara Cheryl Courson Eason; loving sister, Cynthia Lynn Eason Davidson and stepmother, Dixie Crawford Eason. Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Reverend Dean King; her cherished daughter, Olivia Grace King; her father, Harold Eason; her niece Erica Chantille Ehrlich (David); her nephew Christopher Lee Thompson (Crystel); two grand-nephews, Treyton Thompson and Huck Erlich; brother-in-law Steve Davidson; and aunt, Lynn Lowe, as well as a host of extended family and dear friends. Barbara's warmth, compassion, and commitment to serving others have left a lasting imprint on the hearts of those fortunate enough to know her
