Barbara Ann Ebbert

Barbara Ann Ebbert, 68, of Wheeling, WV, passed away peacefully with loved ones by her side on January 28, 2026 at Wheeling Hospital - WVU.

She was born November 25, 1957, a daughter of the late Henry and Devona (Hull) Ebbert. Barbara worked as a clerk at Kroger for many years, where she was known for her dedication and warm interaction with customers and colleagues alike. In her spare time she enjoyed the great outdoors and crafting. She was a member of the Elm Grove Eagles, where she was able to meet and connect with those around her. A true social butterfly, she found pleasure in going out and listening to music.

Barbara is survived by her loving significant other, Tom Schmelick of St. Clairsville, OH; two sons, Ryan (Sara) Grandstaff of Morgantown, WV and Jason (Jessica) Grandstaff of Moundsville, WV; three grandchildren, Tyler, Jourdyce and Ellie; seven siblings, Nancy (Richard) Klimas, Bruce (Debra) Ebbert, Dale (Dawn) Ebbert, Earl Ebbert, David Ebbert, Claire Ebbert and Donna (Kenneth) Thompson; three nephews, two great-nephews, two great-nieces and her beloved dog, Mia.

A celebration of life will be held this summer at the convenience of the family.
