Barbara Jean (Cariveau) Ebel
Age 83, of Eden Prairie, MN, passed away on February 25th, 2025. Preceded in death by parents Earl and Edith Cariveau, 1 brother, Dale, and 1 sister, RoseMary (Trosi). Survived by husband, Don, daughter, Cindy Edstrom, granddaughters, Kristi Newby and Kayla Helgemo, and 5 great-grandchildren, and sisters Elaine and Carol and brother Richard (Ricky).
Barb was born on February 28th, 1941 in Grand Forks, ND to Earl and Edith (Holweger) Cariveau. She graduated from Shanley High School in Fargo, ND. She met her husband Don Ebel at a mutual friend's wedding and was married on May 1st, 1965 and had 1 daughter, Cindy.
They moved to Richfield and then Bloomington, MN in 1968 where she started her career at Midwest Federal as a part time teller. Through her vibrant personality she became a loan officer for United Mortgage where she worked until retirement.
Barb was a lifelong Bridge player which led to many close friendships. She enjoyed traveling, musicals, and spending time with friends. After retirement, she and Don enjoyed winters in South Padre, TX. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She always looked forward to spending time with her family, especially grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A special thanks to the wonderful staff at All Saint's Senior Living in Shakopee and Life Spark Hospice.
Services 11:00 am at Washburn-McReavy, 7625 Mitchell Road, Eden Prairie, MN with Visitation one hour prior to the service.
