Barbara Ann Fabbo, 79, of
Manchester Township, NJ, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on November 11, 2025. Born on New Year's Day, she brightened every life she touched with her warmth, humor, and caring nature.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, Barbara grew up in Lake Hiawatha, NJ and graduated from Parsippany High School in 1963. She worked as an Administrative Assistant for JP Morgan Chase and finished her career in the Brick Township School District.
She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose family was at the center of her life. She married the love of her life, Severino "Sam" Fabbo, in 1966, and together they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and countless family gatherings. They lived in Colonia, NJ for 24 years where they raised their three children before retiring to Island Heights, NJ in 2000. Sam passed away in 2012, but their bond and partnership remained a lasting example of devotion and strength.
To her grandchildren, she was Nonna. She was their biggest supporter, loudest cheerleader, and the heart of the family. She and Sam shared a love for cooking and hosting, filling their home with the smell of Sunday dinners, the sound of laughter, and the warmth of togetherness. An avid reader and gardener, Nonna especially loved watching her grandchildren grow, attending their sporting events and musical performances with pride and joy.
In Leisure Village West, she enjoyed an active and social life, taking part in bowling leagues, bocce ball leagues, the Italian-American Club, the African-American Club, and the travel club. She made wonderful friends and loved every minute of it. Whether competing, chatting, or planning her next adventure, the time was filled with laughter and friendship.
She spent countless summer days at the Jersey Shore and looked forward every year to her trips to Aruba, where the ocean breeze and sunshine matched her bright and joyful spirit.
She will be deeply missed by all who know her. Her kindness, humor, and love, shared with Sam for so many years, will live on in her family's hearts. The memories she created, especially as Nonna, will be cherished forever.
She is predeceased by her parents Joseph & Florence Depasquale and her beloved husband, Sam. She is survived by her son, John Fabbo and his wife Lynda, her daughter Joanne Moss and her husband Jim, her daughter Jennifer Fabbo, and her grandchildren, Joseph, Lauren and her fiancé Marc, Nicholas, Louis, Julia, and Sofia.
A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday at Oliverie Funeral Home 2925 Ridgeway Road Manchester, with visiting hours from 1:00-5:00 PM. Interment is 11:00 AM Monday, November 17 at Brigadier General William C. Doyle NJ Veterans' Cemetery, Arneytown.
