It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Stephen John Fallat, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend who touched the lives of all who knew him.
Stephen was born on December 23, 1946, at All Souls Hospital in Morristown, New Jersey, to Anna and Stephen Fallat. Predeceased sister, Ruth and husband, Jack Tunstead, and sister Beverly, and her husband, Lou Stivaly. He was raised in Parsippany, New Jersey, where his family owned Clover Dairy Farms. A proud graduate of Parsippany High School, Stephen carried the values of hard work and dedication throughout his life.
He served his country with honor as a member of the United States Air Force, demonstrating the same commitment to service that would define his character in all aspects of life.
Stephen married the love of his life, Maria E. Fallat (Marrese), with whom he built a beautiful family centered on love, tradition, and togetherness. He was a loving father to his daughter the late Lynette Berdej and her husband, the late Ed Berdej, Stephanie Biank, and Allison Wagner and her husband, Bryan Wagner. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren Nicholas, Anna, Courtney, Bryn, and Harrison, who brought him immense joy and pride. Stephen was also a beloved uncle and granduncle to many nieces and nephews who will forever treasure his memory.
A man of simple pleasures and deep passions, Stephen was an avid outdoorsman who found peace and purpose in nature. He was a skilled hunter and fisherman who shared his love of the outdoors with family and friends. His expertise in archery, particularly with recurve bows, was matched only by his enthusiasm for teaching others the sport he loved.
Stephen's dinners weren't complete without his cup (or two) of espresso, and his greatest happiness came from the time spent with his family. Whether sharing outdoor adventures camping, holiday gatherings, or quiet moments at home, he treasured every opportunity to be surrounded by those he loved.
Stephen's legacy lives on in the hearts of his family and all who were fortunate enough to know him. His wisdom, kindness, and unwavering devotion to family will be remembered and cherished always.
During the visitation on Thursday, a Wake service will begin at 7:30, immediately followed by military honors.
