Barbara Felt Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Klecatsky & Sons Funeral Homes - Eagan Chapel on Nov. 27, 2025.
Barbara Jean Felt, age 67, of Burnsville, passed away peacefully Friday morning November 21, 2025, from Posterior Cortical Atrophy (PCA). She was born on April 29, 1958, in Birmingham, MI, a daughter of Lorraine and Orville Felt.
Barbara will be deeply missed by many, including her father, Orville; her siblings, Beverly Sweda (Brad), Denise Beyer, Richard Felt (Elizabeth), Rachel Gorton (Drew) and her nine nieces and nephews: Emily, Sam, Nora, Katie, Matt, Cole, Marc, Zander, Iris. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lorraine. She leaves behind a beloved cat, Dexter. Barbara also had deep friendships spanning her lifetime from her childhood in Venezuela to her more recent residence at Havenwood of Burnsville. Barbara kept friends across her schools, work, and community.
She was the eldest of five siblings, spending her early years in Valencia, Venezuela, and Mexico City. Barbara moved to Minnesota in junior high and attended Burnsville High School and the University of Minnesota. She was active in her church youth group at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Eagan, MN where she met some of her closest lifelong friends. She graduated from the University of Minnesota with an Art History degree. She later returned to school and attended William Mitchell College of Law where her "study group" quickly became close friends.
She worked for multiple law firms in Minneapolis and St. Paul over her legal career, including partnership in two firms, and was known for her excellent writing skills.
She loved to travel and often reminisced about her trips with friends or family to Ireland, Hungary, Cuba, Mexico, and England. Barbara was curious about the world and embraced art, culture, and food while making friends throughout her travels.
Barbara was passionate about many social causes, and gave generously of her time, money, and talent for the benefits of others. She was an avid supporter of the arts, donated and adopted from cat rescue organizations, and did pro-bono legal work to support community members. Barbara is continuing to make our world a better place by donating her brain to research on her rare form of dementia.
The family is currently making plans for a spring memorial service.
Donations are suggested to The Minneapolis Institute of Arts, The Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota, or Pet Haven for cat rescue.
