Barbara Fink Obituary

Barbara A. Fink, of Vicksburg, passed away on January 27, 2025, at the age of 91. She leaves behind a legacy of love, generosity, and dedication. Born on October 17, 1933, in Toledo, Ohio. Barbara was a devoted homemaker who spent her days nurturing her family on the family farm. She cherished the simple joys of preparing meals for the farm workers, always finding fulfillment through her passion for cooking and sharing.

Family was paramount to Barbara, and she exemplified what it meant to be family oriented. Her 68-year marriage to Leroy stands as a testament to their unwavering love and commitment to one another. They were married on October 8, 1955. Together, they created a life filled with warmth and cherished memories, raising five children who remember her as a constant source of comfort and guidance. Barbara's pride in her accomplishments as a mother and grandmother radiated from her, as she always held her family close to her heart.

Beyond her role as a homemaker, Barbara found joy in contributing to her community. She volunteered at the Vicksburg hospital and her son John's business, the Fink Butcher Shop and Deli, where her friendly spirit and love of people shone brightly. Her dedication to service extended beyond her family, exemplified by her efforts as a 4H leader during her children's formative years.

Barbara had various interests that enriched her life. She took great pleasure in tending to her garden, nurturing her flowers with the same care she offered her family. Her love for crochet became an avenue through which she created beautiful items, often donating them to her church's annual sale, demonstrating her generosity to those around her.

In the cooler months, Barbara eagerly anticipated her winters in Florida. For many years she would drive to Florida taking her mother and Leroy would join them sometime afterward. These moments were not just a retreat but also opportunities for new memories, reflective of her zest for life.

As we remember Barbara A. Fink, we celebrate a life beautifully lived—one characterized by her deep love for family, her warm generosity, and her unwavering spirit. She leaves behind a legacy that will forever live on in the hearts of her loved ones.

Barbara Fink will be deeply missed by her surviving family members: four children: Stormy (Dan) Flynn, of Cincinnati, OH; John (Cheryl) Fink, of Vicksburg; Charles “Buck” Fink, of Vicksburg; Wendy Fink, of Vicksburg; 11 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren.
