Barbara Laverne Flippin, 74, of Cotter passed away November 13, 2024, in Cotter. She was born September 12, 1950, to Lee and Georgia (Jones) Harmon. Barbara always enjoyed trying out new things like painting and crocheting and even mosaics over the years. Even playing tennis with her best friend, Dianna Cranor. Her love for gardening was always prominent, buying flowers and fixing her flower beds always was her favorite hobby. Barbara also enjoyed reading, especially Steven King, her favorite author. She also loved listening to bluegrass and country music, just hearing the banjo and fiddle brought her so much joy.
Barbara loved animals and owned many pets throughout the years, dogs, cats and even conquered her fear of birds by owning several over the years. She also had a few horses she enjoyed taking care of and spending time with. Barbara's biggest passion was her family. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Donnie Doherty; husband, Russell Flippin; a son, Brian Doherty; her mother; a brother and a sister.
Barbara is survived by two daughters, Melanie Beth Grayham and Emily Flippin; five grandchildren, Tessa Mason (Levi), Brenna Grayham-Cross (Chris), Kara Flippin, Autumn Gillam and Cecilia Flippin; four great grandchildren, Callyn Cross, Jace Cross, Riaya Cross and Audrey Mason and many more family and friends.
A visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Monday, November 18, 2024, at the Conner Family Funeral Home & Cremation Center. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at the Gassville Baptist Church with Brother Ronnie Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at the Gassville Cemetery under the direction of Conner Family Funeral Home & Cremation Center.
