Barbara Ann Frey

Barbara Ann Frey, age 88, of Omaha, Nebraska, passed away peacefully at home in St. Augustine, Florida, on January 22, 2026.

Barbara was born on February 26, 1937, the beloved daughter of Leon Short and Lucy Patricia Short.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Bill Short; her sister, Beverly King; and her son, Mike Frey.

Barbara is survived by her brother Bob Short; her two children, Jack Frey and Cindy (Terry) Forgie; and five cherished grandchildren: Aimee, Michael, Danielle, Kelley, and Devyn. She also leaves behind nineteen nieces and nephews and five great-grandchildren: Grace, Josh, Hailey, Grace, and Murphy.

Barbara's greatest "hobby" was continually thinking of others and finding ways to make their lives a little better. Her kindness, compassion, and quiet generosity touched everyone who knew her.

Thank you, Barbara, for a glimpse of heaven on earth.
