Barbara A. Gallagher

Barbara A. Gallagher, 80, of Ocean Township, NJ, passed away suddenly on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, while surrounded by her loving family.

Above all things, the dearest to Barbara's heart was her family and friends. Born and raised in Staten Island, NY, Barbara relocated to New Jersey after meeting and marrying her husband of 56 years, William Gallagher. Together they had 2 children, Patricia and William, who she loved beyond measure. They were given incredible childhoods surrounded by loving family and friends. Whether Barbara was volunteering at St. Mary's for one of her children or taking them on one of the many memorable, and sometimes infamous, family vacations she ensured they felt loved and happy.

She brought that same love to what may have been her greatest calling, becoming Nana to her granddaughter, Maddie. Always willing to babysit, go on a lunch date or take her on yet another trip to Sephora or Target, the two shared a special bond.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, John and Marie Lawrence and her daughter, Patricia Gallagher. Left behind to treasure her memory are Barbara's husband, William; her son, William, daughter-in-law, Aubrey and granddaughter, Maddie Gallagher; sister-in-laws, Mary Ann Baumann (Carl) and Barbara McCahill (Brendan); several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and a large group of friends who were like family.

Visitation will be held Friday, February 6, 2026, from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM, at the Church of St. Anselm, 1028 Wayside Rd., Tinton Falls, NJ. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 AM. For condolences, please visit www.fiorefuneralhomes.com.
