Barbara Gibel, age 78, passed away on January 9, 2025. She was born on March 6, 1946, in Morehead, Kentucky, to her loving parents, the late Edward and Lillian Smith. Barbara was the beloved wife of Kenneth Gibel and devoted mother of Kenneth Adkins and Angela Nickoloff. She was the cherished grandmother of Sarah Frye, Abbey Croxton, Forrest Croxton, Molly Croxton, Ivana Nickoloff, and Beni Nickoloff, and a proud great-grandmother of Zane and Zaiden Frye. Barbara was the dear sister of the late Eddie Smith and a treasured aunt of Larry Smith and Stephanie Floran.
Barbara was known for her talents as an excellent cook, a skilled gardener, and her creative touch in furniture renovation. She worked as a school bus driver, where her caring and giving nature touched many lives. Barbara will be fondly remembered for her warmth, kindness, and generosity.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Family and friends are welcome on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, from 5 p.m. until time of closing prayers at 7 p.m., at Slone & Co. Funeral Directors 13115 Lorain Ave. Cleveland, OH 44111. A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at 11 a.m., at St. Joseph Cemetery 32789 Detroit Rd, Avon, OH 44011 (please meet at gates by 10:45 a.m.)
