Her Legacy Barbara Ann Girard, 87, passed away June 19, 2022. She was born on June 25, 1934, in Detroit, Michigan to French Earl Oliver and Anna (Anderson) Oliver. Barbara married the love of her life, David Girard, on June 25, 1955, in Detroit, Michigan. Barbara loved knitting, boating, golfing, and spending time on the water on the pontoon boat she purchased for her family. She worked for Weight Watchers for 20 years, as well as spent an extended time working at Northwestern Mutual. She also enjoyed walking her dog every day, and was very proud of her red convertible sports car. She was active in the church altar guild and her book club, and mentored at Big Brother Big Sister of America as a youth mentor.
Her Family Barbara will be missed by her children, Lee (Josephine), Justin (Lori), Paul (Sarah); Grandchildren, Jason, Brandon, Alaina, Noah; great grandchildren, Red, Ruby, Wesley, Calvin, and Charlie. She is preceded in death by her husband, David (2007), her brother, Jack Oliver, and her parents, French and Anna Oliver.
Her Farewell Barbara's family and friends will gather Thursday, June 23, 2022, from 2:00pm – 3:00pm, at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Hamburg Chapel in Hamburg, Michigan. Her Community Farewell will follow at 3:00pm. Pastor Joe Muzzi will serve as celebrant. Memorial contributions are suggested to Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.
