Barbara Grammer Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jan. 30, 2026.
Barbara Sue Witt Grammer, formerly of Eads, TN, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 25, 2026 in Memphis, TN, where she lived most of her adult life.

Sue was born May 27, 1935, to Mildred Ruth McCurter Witt and Doyle Edgar "Jack" Witt in Pemiscott Co, Missouri and grew up in Malden, MO, alongside her only sibling, Larry Dean Witt.

Sue married Billy Jim Grammer on April 11, 1964, and they enjoyed 58 years of marriage. She fulfilled her dream of becoming a mother when she gave birth to her only son, Gregory Dean Grammer, whom she adored. She was a devoted wife, mother and amazing "Mimi" to her grandchildren, and was a loving and adoring aunt, substitute mom and extra grandma to many family members and friends throughout the years. Sue was a friend to all who met her, but to her closest friends, she was a vibrant, loyal and steadfast supporter who was always ready to have fun and enjoy life. She had an infectious laugh and warm hugs. She loved cooking, especially for others, all kinds of music, flowers, anything patriotic and she was always happiest when she was at the beach. She was a faithful follower of Christ and a long-time member of Cornerstone Church in Bartlett, where she served in women's ministry, nursery and choir for many years.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother and sister-in-law. She is survived by her son, Greg Grammer (Sylvia) of Lakeland, TN, two grandchildren, Savannah Grammer King (Nicholas) of Horn Lake, MS and Greyson Witt Grammer of Lakeland, TN. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and extended family who loved her dearly.
