Barbara Curington Grubb, age 83, of Knoxville, TN passed away on Monday, February 24, 2025. She was of the Baptist faith, and a member of Corryton Church. Barbara worked at Travelers Insurance Company for twenty-five years. After retirement early, she enjoyed traveling with many special friends, watching UT Football games, and working part time. Barbara and her husband, Joe were members of Corryton Church where they loved serving on the meal team on Wednesday nights. Most of all Barbara was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be missed each and every day. Preceded in death by Roy and Bessie Currington; brother, Earl Curington; spouse, Billy Joe Grubb; and daughter, Kim Grubb. She is survived by daughters, Kim Coker Lay and husband Tim Lay, and Lisa Grubb Ward; grandchildren, Taylor Lay Bowles and husband Michael Bowles, Chris Grubb and wife Leah, their daughter Maisey, Corey Grubb and son Greyson, Caleb Grubb and wife Daniece and children, Jayden and Kennedi, Dylan Ward and wife Cecelia children Cayden, Cierra, Carter, and Cecily, and Dallas Ward. Special sister-in-law Barbara Curington, nephew Chip Curington, wife Brenda and daughter Christin, and lots of very dear friends and neighbors. The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm February 27, 2025, at Rose Funeral & Cremation Broadway. A funeral service will follow at 6:00 pm with Rev. Rocky Ramsey officiating. Family and friends will gather at 10:45 am Friday February 28, 2025, at Greenwood Cemetery for an entombment service at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Corryton Church.
