Barbara J. Gunyon, age 87, of Frankfort, Indiana, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, January 2, 2026.
Barbara was born on April 18, 1938, in Frankfort, Indiana, to the late William and Hazel Mae (Huffer) Davis. She was a graduate of Rossville High School and spent her life devoted to caring for others, both professionally and personally.
She was first married to Kenneth Vinard, the father of her children, who preceded her in death. She later married Donald Gunyon, who also preceded her in death. Barbara’s life was marked by resilience, love, and deep devotion to her family.
Barbara worked for many years at General Battery before later dedicating herself to caregiving with Comfort Keepers.
She was a faithful member of the Church of the Nazarene and lived her life as a good Christian woman. Barbara enjoyed crafting and attending craft shows, was known as a wonderful cook, and found her greatest joy in her family. She was deeply loved by many and will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
She is survived by her children: Pam Tittle (Mike), Cindy Knisley (Paul), Brett Vinard (Kay), Terry Vinard, and Phil Gunyon. She is also survived by her sisters, Cheryl Ballenger and Connie Davis, as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husbands, Barbara was preceded in death by her daughter, Regina Stevenson; and sisters, Sandra Arlene Johnston and Dianna Gallagher.
Memorial Visitation will be held Thursday, January 15, 2026, from 12pm until the time of the memorial service at 2pm at Frankfort First Church of the Nazarene.
