Barbara Ann Halat, 87, of Biloxi passed away Sunday, July 8, 2024. Barbara was born September 11, 1936 in Biloxi, MS to Mr. Paul and Margaret Halat.
Barbara attended the University of Southern Mississippi, where she was a member of the Dixie Darlings. Later, she went on to attend San Diego State University. By the time Barbara had completed her college education, she had earned two Master’s degrees. Following graduation, Barbara began her teaching career. She worked with the San Diego United School District for 55 years while living in La Jolla, CA. In 2002, she was awarded Teacher of the Year. In her free time, she enjoyed cooking.
She is survived by her siblings, Joyce E. Halat, Paul L. Halat, Michael W. Halat, and Sandra L. Halat.
A graveside service will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at the Biloxi Mausoleum Cemetery located at 1128 Robertson St., north of the tracks.
