Barbara Jane Rogers Hale age 83 of McMinnville and longtime resident of Smithville, went home to be with the Lord on Friday night, November 14, 2025, at NHC HealthCare in McMinnville. She was born March 22, 1942, to her parents, the late Earl Denton and Edith Marine Swindell Rogers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold "Groundhog" Hale. She was a factory worker for many years and also helped with grooming dogs. Barbara was a member of the Church of Christ. She leaves to cherish her memory, two children, Tammi (Max) Slatton of McMinnville and Teddy (Brenda) Roberts of Crossville; five grandchildren, Tera (Scott) Elkins of McMinnville, Ty Slatton of Pikeville, KY, Tasha (Dan) Miles of Manchester, Jason (Madelyn) Roberts of Chattanooga and Dustin (Jessia) Roberts of McMinnville; eight great-grandchildren, Rylan, Levi, Calab, Braxton, Kennedy, Harrison, Embery and Onyx; two step-children, Craig (Patricia) Hale and Crystal Hale both of Smithville; step-grandchildren, Christen (Charles) Cox, Nicholas Hale and Elizabeth Chalfant; five step-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Helen Taylor (Jim) Cook of Liberty. Funeral services will be conducted 1 PM Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bros. Derrick Stiles and Michael Hale officiating and burial will follow in Whorton Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday 4 PM until 7 PM and Tuesday 10 AM until the time of the service at 1 PM. The family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to the NHC McMinnville Family and Staff, Amanda Sain and the 4th Floor Nursing Staff and Caregivers, for the love and care given to Mrs. Barbara. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is honored to care for the Hale family.
