Funeral Service for Barbara Hales, 76, of Brownfield, will be held at Calvary Baptist Church on Friday, September 13, 2024, at 10:00 AM, with Rob Crowley officiating. A visitation in her honor will take place on Thursday, September 12, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Brownfield Funeral Home.

Barbara was born on December 19, 1947, to Sam Houston and Evelyn DePoyster in Brownfield. Barbara lived her life with warmth and kindness, creating cherished memories for all who knew her. Barbara dedicated much of her professional life to bookkeeping while also nurturing her family as a devoted homemaker. Her unwavering love for her husband and family was the cornerstone of her life, providing a nurturing environment filled with affection and support.

In her free time, Barbara relished engaging in various activities. She was an enthusiastic participant in playing cards, pool, and bowling, but perhaps her greatest passion was for bingo, where she formed many joyful connections with her friends and fellow players. Additionally, she had a strong desire to travel, exploring new places and sharing her adventures with loved ones. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Karen Gentry.

Barbara is survived by her husband Marty Hales; daughters, Amy White, Robin Brashears, Cathy Shipley, Mary Salas, and Penny Crowley; grandchildren, Jamie Nelson, Aaron Besaw, Kyle Nelson, Crystal Bohner, Scott Edwards, Kelly Edwards, Seagan Brown, Sydney Kirby, Brason Salas, Braelee Salas, Blake Crowley and Sadie Crowley; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and a brother Gary DePoyster and wife Avis.
