Age 65, late of Essex, passed away peacefully Monday, April 7, 2025, at Lightways Hospice, Joliet surrounded by her loving family. Born in Chicago, raised in Orland Park, spent the summers in Bass Lake, and a resident of Essex for the past 20 years. Formerly employed by Waste Management, she was also a school bus driver for a few local school districts and employed by XPO where she was a dispatcher for many years. Barb was an avid gardener, she loved potting and planting all sorts of plants, she enjoyed spending time outdoors and soaking up the sun. She loved small dogs, especially yorkies. Above all else she cherished spending time with her family and friends.
Preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Barbara (Nee Klasen) Proctor.
Survived by her loving husband of 15 years, Kent Harmann; three loving children, Tony Vallos, Vicki (Zach) Reasor, and Krissy (Nick) Ellul; five adored grandchildren, Danny Vallos, Zachary Reasor Jr., Jax, Jace, and Mila Ellul; one brother, Robert (Anna) Proctor; two sisters, Cheri (Brian) Farrell, and Lynda (Terry) Kennedy; father-in-law, Donald (late Avanelle) Harmann Sr.; brother-in-law, Don (Betsy) Harmann; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces, great nephews, and many friends.
Cremation Rites have been respectfully addressed.
A gathering celebrating Barbara's life will be held on April 25, 2025, at Comise's Sports Bar and Grill 1005 W. Laraway Rd. New Lenox, IL 60451 from 3:00pm until 8:00pm.
