Age 92, of Lockport passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, February 24, 2026. Richard retired from Pepsi where he was a dedicated salesman working with numerous local retailers for many years retiring in 1998. Member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local # 744. He enjoyed playing cards, especially pinochle, golf, he loved parties, enjoyed spending time at the cottage in Chief Lake, Michigan, but above all else he cherished spending time with his family. He was a kind and loving soul, had a heart of gold, and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Preceded in death by his son, Thomas Suvada (2010); his parents; and his in laws.

Survived by his loving wife of 72 years who was his high school sweetheart, JoAnn (nee Kovalcik) Suvada; three devoted daughters, Linda (Mike Gray) Mounce, Laura (Steven) Eichhorn, and JoAnn (Raymond) Cava; four treasured grandchildren, Jeremy (Naomi) Mounce, Calli Eichhorn, Isabel Cava, and Daniel Cava; three adored great grandchildren, Eric and Dylan Mounce, and Charlotte Cava; and his dear brother in law, Joseph (Carolyn) Kovalcik. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Jude Children's Hospital in Richard's name would be greatly appreciated.

Cremation Rites have been respectfully addressed.

Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, in the O'Neil Funeral Home Chapel 1105 E. 9th St. Lockport, IL 60441 from 10:00am until time of Memorial Service at 12:00noon.
