Barbara A. Heggen

Barbara Ann Heggen, 85, died Monday, November 23, 2009 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital. Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Friday, November 27, 2009 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery. Barbara was born July 9, 1924 in Oskaloosa, IA to Wilbert P. and M. Gladys Finerty. Barbara moved to Des Moines in 1946. She was a cafeteria worker in Des Moines Public Schools until her retirement in 1985. Barbara was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Elk's Does- Drove 25 and enjoyed needlepoint and candy making. Survivors include her daughter, Pamela Kay Heggen of Pleasant Hill; her granddaughter, Molly Ann Heggen of Pleasant Hill. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Robert and her daughter in law, Neala Heggen; and her son, Dennis M. Heggen . The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 pm, Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at Iles Grandview Park Funeral Home where a vigil service will begin at 7:00 pm.
