Barbara R. Heller passed away peacefully in her home in Bedford, NH on May 2, 2021 at the age of 81.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Maurice “Bud” Heller and is survived by daughter Kimberly, son Matthew and his wife Linda, grandchildren Samantha and Dylan, and great-granddaughter Ava.
Born on March 26, 1940 in southern Ohio, Barbara was the daughter of Alice Louise Schott and Joseph C. Calmer. After marrying Bud in 1963, the couple spent time in Japan and eventually moved back to Ohio. In 1975, they settled in Orange Village, Ohio where they lived until moving to New Hampshire in 1986.
Being active and involved was incredibly important to her, from church events, volunteering, Bedford Woman’s Club activities and her most important job, being there for her family. Barb was happiest when she was around others and making them happy.
Barbara will be lovingly remembered for her unyielding positivity and warmth, and how she
welcomed all with open arms. It didn’t matter if you were a member of the church
congregation or someone her children or grandchildren brought to the house, her light shined brightly on everyone. Her laugh and smile were infectious, and she taught the world that it’s okay to laugh at yourself.
Her Memorial Gathering will be held in the Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover St., Manchester, on Saturday, Jan. 15, from 3:00 to 4:00 P.M. Followed by a Memorial Service at 4:00 P.M.
