Barbara Lee Henline

Barbara Baird Henline, 91 years old, passed away peacefully at The Greens in Spruce Pine, NC on February 27, 2026, after several years of declining health.

Barbara enjoyed traveling the United States over the years and was an avid book reader. She enjoyed gathering with her lady friends for a meal together at a local restaurant. She was a huge fan of Elvis and had the time of her life when he showed up at her 88th birthday party and sang to her.

Barbara was a member of the Spruce Pine United Methodist Church where, for years, she enjoyed singing in the choir. She was strong willed and determined to do things the way she thought they should be done.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Howard; her parents, Glenn and Anna Lee Baird; and great granddaughter, Charlotte Ray Henline. She is survived by a daughter, Diane House; and a son, Gregg Henline and wife Lisa; sister, Glenda Pitman and husband Butch; four grandchildren, Jason House and wife Cherie, Brad House and wife Mary, Amber Dale and husband Levi, and Chris Henline and wife Kylie; great grandchildren Olivia House, India Henline, Cairo Henline, and only two months away from two more little ones.

Funeral services will be held at 11am on Thursday, March 5, with visitation 1 hour prior to the service, at the Spruce Pine United Methodist Church with Rev. Gene Boatwright officiating, with the family eulogy being provided by Ms. Linda Ollis Taylor. Graveside service will be conducted by Rev. Holly Cobb McKim in the Spruce Pine Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Spruce Pine Methodist Church Missions, or to Mitchell County Gideons.
