Barbara Hoffine

It is with sadness, we are announcing that Barbara Ann Buechner/Rife, Hoffine – Age 87 has passed away. Resided until her passing, at Meadow Grove Transitional Care, in Grove City, Ohio. Her prior residence to the facility was in Plain City, Ohio. Barbara was born to parents of Genevieve E. Buechner and Raymond A. Buechner Sr. (both deceased). Mother of four children which preceded her in death were, David, Helen, Phillip and Susan; also preceded in death by husband, Russell Hoffine of Plain City; brother, Raymond A. Buechner Jr. and sister, Jennifer J. Buechner, both of Columbus. Left behind to cherish her memory are her brother, Michael S. Buechner, of Anaheim, California; sisters: Norma l. Adams of Pasadena, Texas, Kathleen M. Hughes of Columbus, Ohio and Angela C. Cooke of Delaware, Ohio; close family friend, Kathleen Doughman of Delaware, Ohio; her grandsons Christopher and Olin as well as a great grandchild of Columbus, Ohio and many nieces and nephews. In her adult years she was employed by Western Union and then for Sears warehouse until she retired. She was an avid animal lover, mainly cats, she never turned one away and made sure they were all fed and well taken care of. Later she became lovingly interested in sloths. Special thanks to the entire staff at Meadow Grove Transitional Care in Grove City, Ohio and Bella Care Hospice in Westerville Ohio, without their compassion and constant care, her end of life would not have been as comfortable and pain free as it was. As per Barbara's request there will be no funeral or memorial service. We invite you to make a donation per her request to the animal shelter of your choice in her honor, in lieu of flowers.
