Barbara M. Jindo, age 83, a beacon of light and love in the lives of all who knew her, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 20, 2026, in Oxford, Michigan. Born on January 13, 1943, in
Detroit, Michigan, Barbara's radiant spirit and unwavering kindness defined her 83 years of life. Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of many, yet her legacy of warmth and generosity endures.
Barbara was the beloved wife of the late Joseph, with whom she shared a profound and enduring love. Together, they built a life full of joy, laughter, and cherished memories. Her commitment to her family was unparalleled, as she was the cherished mother of Teresa (Tim) West, Tanya (Mark) Vilcek, the late Nicole Kelley, and Dina Evans. Barbara's love extended to her role as a doting grandmother to Austin Evans, Morgan West, Ethan West, Kiera West, Brianna Vilcek, and Gabriella Vilcek. Each of her grandchildren will carry forward the lessons of kindness and compassion that she instilled in them.
Known for her gentle spirit and gracious manner, Barbara was also a dear sister to Patricia (Tom) Runyon, Sue (Doug) Nesbitt, and Joseph Licavoli. Her siblings knew her as a confidante and friend, whose wisdom and support were always offered with an open heart. Barbara's presence in their lives was a source of comfort and joy, and her memory will continue to be a guiding light for them.
Visitation will be held from 3:00pm – 8:00pm; with a Rosary at 7:00pm, Thursday, February 26, 2026 at Bagnasco & Calcaterra Funeral Home, 13650 E. 15 Mile,
Sterling Heights, Michigan. A funeral service will take place at 11:00am, Friday, February 27, 2026 at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
