Barbara Sue (Overshiner) Johnson, 80, of Georgetown, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 13, 2024. Born on November 30, 1943, in Brownstown, Indiana, she was the beloved daughter of Otho and Uva (Green) Overshiner.
Barbara's life was marked by her deep commitment to family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Johnson, and her absence will be deeply felt by those who knew and loved her.
She leaves behind a loving family, including her children: Kecia Lamb, Amy Bingham and her husband Frankie, Tony Johnson, and Tracy Johnson. Barbara took immense joy in being a grandmother, and she is survived by her cherished grandchildren: Tyler Lamb and his wife Chelsie, Taylor Eckert and her husband Nathan, Timmy Bingham and his wife Aleah, along with Maya Johnson, Isaac Johnson; and seven great-grandchildren. Additionally, she is survived by her sister, Maggie Reynolds.
Visitation for Barbara will be held on Friday, October 18, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). A funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m., and she will be laid to rest privately at Edwardsville Cemetery.
Barbara Sue (Overshiner) Johnson will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and the love she shared with her family. Her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those she has left behind.
