Barbara Jean Johnson

Barbara Jean Johnson, 91, of Centerville, Ohio, passed away on October 31, 2025. Born in Dayton on December 12, 1933, she was the beloved daughter of the late John and Grace Dubaugh. 

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Andrew, Ellis, Janie, June, and Alice. 

She leaves behind her husband, Grant Johnson; daughter, Paula (Steve) Jackson; granddaughters, Laura (Tim) Ferguson and Sarah (Richard Simman) Jackson; great-grandson, Sebastian; and a large circle of nephews, nieces, extended family, and friends. 

Barbara began her career At Wright Patterson Air Force Base and later retired from MEAD Corporation. She was an active member of Patterson Park Church and the Centerville Women's Civic Club. 

During her leisure time, Barbara enjoyed playing bridge, tackling crossword puzzles, reading widely, and watching the many birds in her backyard. 

Known for her joyful nature, friendliness, and her warm gesture of kissing someone's hand, Barbara’s fun-loving spirit was cherished by all who knew her. 

She will be deeply missed by her loved ones and many friends. Barbara now rests in the arms of our Lord. 

A graveside service at David's Cemetery will be scheduled at a later date.
