Alex Michael Johnson

Alex Johnson, 33, went home to heaven on November 4, 2025. He was a kind-hearted, witty, and long-suffering man who finally found rest after a two-and-a-half-year battle with stage four colon\liver cancer. Valiant and brave through every painful moment, he often thanked his oncologist for the extra time his treatments gave him with his family.

Born on October 21, 1992, in Sandy, Utah, to his loving parents, Ryan and Lori Johnson, Alex joined his older sister, Alexus, in a tight-knit family that cherished hiking, biking, racing, and camping.

Shortly after graduating from Alta high school, Alex proudly served in the US Army Reserves, deploying to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, in 2014 and 2019. He received an honorable discharge after nine years of dedicated service.

Following his final military deployment, Alex attended the Utah Police Academy and joined the Utah State Hospital police force. The family extends special thanks to his colleagues at the hospital for their gracious support throughout this ordeal.

Cars were Alex's passion; he owned countless vehicles throughout his life. He adored his parents, who remained constantly by his side, and he loved them deeply. His girlfriend, Kelsey, cherished and supported him until the very end.

Alex leaves behind his parents; his sister, Alexus Delvie (Ryan); his niece, Olivia; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his Johnson grandparents, Ray and Norma Johnson; his grandpa, Richard Teper; and his cousins, Sergeant Derek Johnson and Cheyenne Bagley.

Alex requested that everyone dress casually and comfortably at his services – he'll be in a hoodie himself.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, November 7, 2025 at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Road (10600 South) in Sandy, Utah. A viewing will be held prior to services beginning at Noon. Interment will follow in the Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery.

Services will be streamed via Zoom for those wishing to attend virtually.
