Sylvia Ann Thomas

Sylvia Ann Thomas, loving daughter, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 30, 2025. Sylvia was born on December 23, 1959, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Gwyn Stevens Thomas and Anna Belle Thayne Thomas. She was raised in Bountiful, Utah, along with two brothers and two sisters. She attended schools in Centerville and Bountiful, Utah. When she was 16 years old, her family moved to Logan, Utah, where she graduated from Logan High School and Seminary in 1978.

Sylvia had a long and successful career in the travel industry. She liked getting to know her clients and planning memorable vacations for them. She was also an intuitive interior designer, who could walk into a space and immediately envision how to bring the room to life. She enjoyed discovering places off the beaten path, and documenting her travels through digital and paper scrapbooking, She cherished her time walking on the beaches in San Diego where she lived for several years and found herself returning every year. She enjoyed playing golf, especially with her brother and sister. Sylvia had a great love of learning, She was an avid reader and managed to read several books at the same time. She often recommended books and shared insights from her latest reads.

Sylvia was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout her life. She served in many callings and touched many lives. She found great joy in teaching the gospel and serving in the temple. Sylvia loved spending time with her family and her many friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by two sisters, Lacy Thomas and Lori Thomas; a brother, Roger Thomas; and a sister-in-law, Michele Thomas. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Thayne Thomas. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, November 7, 2025, at the Bountiful Park Ward, 990 North 100 West, Bountiful, Utah, where friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Interment at Larkin Sunset Gardens, Sandy, Utah.
