Barbara Ann Jones, 86, of Florence, born March 6, 1939, in the loving embrace of her parents, George and Dorothy Placke, passed away on July 29, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Florence. Her departure leaves a profound void in the lives of those who knew her.
Barb, as she was affectionately known, was a cherished member of her community and a devoted member of The Vineyard Church in Florence. Throughout her life, she embraced her interests with enthusiasm and passion. A skilled oil painter, she found joy in creating beautiful works that reflected her vibrant spirit. She also indulged in scrapbooking and ceramics, hobbies that allowed her creativity to flourish. Additionally, Barb loved engaging in activities such as bingo, fishing, and playing cards and roller skating, where her playful nature shone brightly.
Her legacy endures through her loving family, including her sons, Mike Jones and Daniel Jones, who carry forward her warmth and kindness. Barb was also a proud grandmother to two grandchildren, Jacob and Amanda Jones, who brought immense joy to her life.
Barb will be remembered not just for the life she lived, but for the love she shared with her family and friends, including her brother, Robert Placke. She is preceded in death by her beloved siblings, Jimmy Placke, Genevieve O'Hara, Mary Jones, and Bud Placke, who she fondly held in her heart throughout her life.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects Monday, August 4, 2025, at Floral Hills Funeral Home - Chapel A in Covington, Kentucky. The visitation will begin at 11:00 AM, and will be followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM. The gathering will provide a space to celebrate Barbara's life and the countless memories she created.
As we come together to honor Barbara Ann Jones, we remember her spirit, her artistry, and the love she shared with us all. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her. Burial will be at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
