Barbara Ann Joyner was born July 23,1955 in Kinston North Carolina. She was the only daughter born to Roy Lee Sheppard and Ruby Mae Belton Sheppard.
She entered eternal rest early Thursday morning April 17, 2025 at her residence in Fayetteville, NC.
Barbara grew up in Kinston NC and attended Kinston High School, later in life she studied at Fayetteville Technical Community College which she majored in Early Childhood Education. She loved working with children especially at Koala Daycare in Fayetteville NC.
Barbara was a humble, caring, loving, praying lady. She had an amazing faith, love for God and he called on her to preach the word. She became an ordain minister in the early 2000's. She was a beloved sister, mother, wife, grandmother and friend.
Along with her parents, Roy Lee Sheppard and Ruby Mae Belton Sheppard, she was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Norwood F Joyner (Wiggo) and her siblings, Curtis, Ivey-Lee and Donald Sheppard.
She will be missed significantly by her children, Jerrell Joyner of Kinston NC, Lashaunda Joyner-Jackson of Clayton NC, and Kema Joyner-Kirk of Grovetown GA; sibling Randall Sheppard, Kinston NC; a very special sister-in-law and caregiver Dena Joyner; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, relatives and friends.
Visitation will be 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM Saturday, May 3, 2025 at Cliffdale Christian Center, 6427 Cliffdale Road, Fayetteville, NC 28314.
Funeral Services will follow at 1:00 PM following the visitation with Pastor Joshua Goodman officiating.
Graveside Services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, May 22, 2025 in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery, 8220 Bragg Blvd, Fort Bragg, NC 28310.
