Barbara Kail Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bodkin Funeral Home - Milan on Feb. 5, 2026.
Barbara Ann Kail, passed away peacefully at her residence in Humboldt, Tennessee, on February 4, 2026, after an extended illness. Born on December 5, 1947, in Madison County, Tennessee, Barbara's journey was marked by her unwavering devotion to her family and her generous spirit.

Barbara, who was affectionately known by those closest to her as simply Gran Gran, dedicated many years of her life to her work at Magna, previously known as Douglas and Lomason, where she retired after a fulfilling career. Her commitment to excellence and her supportive nature made her not only a valued employee but also a cherished colleague.

Family was the cornerstone of Barbara's world. She is survived by her loving husband, Gary Kail, and her son, Shane Kail, whose lives were profoundly shaped by her tenderness and wisdom. Her legacy also lives on through her grandson, Blake Kail, who will carry forward the lessons of compassion and grace Barbara instilled in him. Barbara's sisters, Susie Gonzalez and Sarah Emert, will remember her as a guiding light, a sister who always extended her warmth and support.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Jackson Thomas and Catherine Winters Fisher, as well as her brothers, Joel, Ernest, Billy, and Jack Fisher, and sisters, Betty Williams, Erlene Allen, Linda Mason, and Sandra Hunt. Her departure leaves a void in the hearts of her family and all who knew her, yet her influence remains as a testament to a life well-lived.

Barbara's character was the epitome of love, kindness, and thoughtfulness. These attributes were not only evident in her interactions with her loved ones but also shone through in her dealings with friends, coworkers, and acquaintances. Her ability to listen, uplift, and comfort those around her was truly remarkable and will be remembered by all as the hallmark of her personality.

Funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at 2 PM at Bodkin Funeral Home with her visitation being held on Saturday evening from 5 - 8 PM and on Sunday from 12 - 2 PM at the funeral home.
