Jason Everett Vasquez

Jason Everett Vasquez, 51, of Humboldt, TN, passed away in New Bedford, MA after an accident on the docks on January 31, 2026.

Jason was born April 5, 1974 in Corpus Christi, TX to his parents, Deloris (Robles) Wofford and Juan Soto Vasquez. Jason completed his GED and then continued his education, earning some college credits at Union University in Jackson, TN.

Jason loved being out on the water. He became a Commercial Fisherman, and recently he was a mate on a safety boat supporting wind farms. He also spent time serving as a Marine Reservist. Jason's proudest career accomplishment was when he obtained his 100-ton Captain's License. He was planning to work towards getting his 200-ton Captain's License.

When Jason wasn't working, he loved to spend time with family and friends. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Church in Humboldt, TN and enjoyed attending services. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, friend, and mate. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Jason is survived by his parents, Deloris and Wayne Wofford of Humboldt, TN, and Juan Soto Vasquez of Ingleside, TX; his siblings, John Vasquez of Humboldt, TN, Stephanie Fowler and her husband Tim of Humboldt, TN, Marcella Aguillar of Corpus Christi, TX, Victoria Vasquez of Ingleside, TX; as well as many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Jason's life will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Magnolia Manor and Chapel, 1424 E. Main Street, Humboldt, TN 38343. There will be a final memorial for him in Aransas Pass, TX at a date still to be determined.
