Barbara Jean Keepers

Barbara Keepers, 76, passed peacefully in her sleep, Tuesday morning, January 21, 2026 in Lincoln City, Oregon.

Barbara was born May 28, 1949 in Seattle, Washington to Frank Edward and Margaret June (Hile) Miller. She and her mom moved to Springfield, Oregon in 1953, where she was an excellent student and a phenomenal musician. She graduated from Thurston High School in 1967, where she excelled in orchestra, fluently playing seven instruments. After graduating, she performed with a junior symphony. She married John Keepers of Pleasant Hill, Oregon April 19, 1969. John and Barbara had two children, Wil and Genie, and three grandchildren, Taylor, Sierra, and Savannah.

She and John were wonderful parents, neighbors and friends to many as they ran the family farm in Pleasant Hill, where they lived for over 35 years and raised their family. She was passionate about family, reading, gardening and music, serving many years on the Worship Team at Trent Church of Christ in Dexter, Oregon and performing music for numerous weddings and other events throughout her adulthood. Barbara had a natural servant's heart. She did secretarial work until she retired to care for her husband and mother through long illnesses. She relocated to Lincoln City, Oregon in 2005 and became a member of Coast Vineyard Church, where she taught children's classes and Bible studies, then later, attended Calvary Chapel, Lincoln City.

She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Miller; mother, June Hankins; stepfather, Earl Hankins; and stepsisters, Sandra Miller and Gail McDonald; and husband, John Keepers.

She is survived by her children and grandchildren.

Services will be held 5:00 p.m. Sunday, February 15, 2026 at the Lincoln City Calvary Chapel, 4406 US-101, Lincoln City, OR 97367. Additional services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 28, 2026 at the Trent Church of Christ, 38029 Wheeler Rd, Dexter, OR 97431.

She will be laid to rest with her husband at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Pleasant Hill, Oregon.
