Barbara Ann (Guilliams) Kent, of Norton, and formerly of Hyde Park and of Dedham for over 55 years, died Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. She was 89. Barbara was born on February 13, 1936 in Coshocton, Ohio, the daughter of Carlos Albert and Ernestine Catherine (Middy) Guilliams. After high school she enlisted in the Army and was honorably discharged in 1954. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Education in 1982. Barbara was the former wife of the late Thomas H. Kent Jr, the mother of the late Thomas H. Kent III, and the sister of the late Edith Fields. She is survived by her four daughters, Catherine Mauer of South Carolina, Catana Dussault of Foxboro, Cynthia Kent of Norton, Mary Buchanan of Boston, and her son, James Kent, of Burleson, Texas. She is also survived by her sister, Sharon Aronhalt; five brothers, Don, James, Carlos Jr., Philip, and William Guilliams; as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Friday, December 19th from 8 to 9:30 am at the Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton Street, Dedham, MA followed by her funeral mass at St. Mary's Church, 420 High Street, Dedham at 10 am. Interment with military honors will be in the St. James Section of St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury Parkway, West Roxbury. Relatives and friends are invited to watch the livestream of Barbara's funeral mass and burial at www.harborview.live. Streaming will begin at 9:30am.
