Barbara A. Kirby

With heavy hearts, we say goodbye to Barbara Kirby Fealey, of Albany, NY, who passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family after a brave fight with cancer.
Barb was a force to be reckoned with – whip-smart and endlessly goofy, she had a gift for making everyone around her feel cherished and a bit lighter. She was the heart of our family, a beloved wife to James, an incredible mom to Lauren (Conrad) and Megan (Austin), and an excited grandma to little Maddie. She will be greatly missed by her siblings, Mary Beth Stabinski, Theresa Hodges, Robert Kirby, and her many beloved friends and family. Barb now joins her parents, Marion and John, and her brother, John, in heaven.
Barb never wanted anyone to fuss over her, but she did love bringing people together.
So, in that spirit, we warmly invite friends and family to come together and celebrate her. Calling hours will be from 4 to 7pm on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen Street, Albany. Please use the entrance at the rear parking lot. This will be followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 am on Friday, February 9, at Blessed Sacrament, leading into a party and celebration of Barb's life.
Instead of flowers, Barb would've wanted you to spread some love – tell someone you care about them, give a hug, and share a laugh. That's how she lived, and it's the best way we can think of to honor her. We'll miss her every day, but we're so grateful for the time we had and the love she gave.
