Barbara Ann Klewe (Bradley), age 96, recently of Fort Wayne, IN, but formally from Akron, OH, passed away November 26, 2024. She was born April 2,1928 in Kent, OH. During her working years, she worked as a typesetter and did bookkeeping before she transitioned to a full time home maker. She was a beloved wife, devoted mother, grandma and great grandma to her family.
Barbara met the love of her life, Lyman Klewe, and they married October 27, 1951.Together they raised three children: Jay, Jill and Janice. In her younger married years, she served the local PTA and Girl Scouts. She was a 50+ year member of the local Akron, Ohio TOPS #220 club. She served in several offices during her active membership years. She served as an election officer for the local Republican party for many decades. She enjoyed gardening and was an avid bird watching Audubon member. She enjoyed embroidery, knitting and stamping handmade cards. She was a ferocious reader. She enjoyed challenging word searches and games of solitaire. She lived a full life with Lyman by his side.
Barbara is survived by her three children; Jay Klewe (Debbie), Jill McClard (Joe), Janice Sullivan; 6 grandchildren; Carrie Hartzell (Dan), Jason Klewe, Matthew McClard (Dorothy), John L Sullivan, Joshua Klewe, Patricia Heffington (Keith); and 12 great grandchildren.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Lyman Ellsworth Klewe, parents Grace (Finch) and Lemoine Bradley and sister Jane Hughey.
The funeral will be Friday December 6th 12:30 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131North Canton Rd, Akron, with a visitation one hour prior (Friday 11:30 AM- 12:30 PM). Final resting place will be at Hillside Memorial Park.
