Obituary For Barbara Ennis Klier
Barbara Ennis Klier 88, of Rockland passed away peacefully surrounded and supported by her children on August 18, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Ronald and Gertude Ennis of Quincy MA. She was born and raised in Squantum which probably accounts for her lifelong love of the beach.
She is survived by her son Kenneth Klier Jr. and wife Debbie of Plymouth MA, son Kevin Klier and wife Joan of Jensen Beach FL, daughter Kimberly and husband Timothy of Duxbury MA, and daughter Kerry and husband Charles of Scituate MA. . She is also survived by her sister Pam DiStefano of Peabody MA and Melodee Quipp of FL
She was adored by her 13 grandchildren, Katrina Klier, Alexandra Klier, Jessica Andreosatos and husband Alex, Mathew Klier and Kara Cuzzone, Timothy Duffy and wife Catie, Bridget Kabat and husband Tucker, Erin Ryan and husband Kevin, Colleen Duffy, Brendan Duffy and wife Meg, Brianna Connors and husband Tim, Sarah Heald and husband Jimmy, Charles Perfetuo and Nick Perfetuo and her 6 great grandchildren: Mia and Lucy Duffy, Aidan, Quinn and Grace Kabat and Julian Klier.
Barbara moved to Rockland in 1960 where she has resided for over 65 years. Hosting the annual Christmas Day party for decades she was able to bring 5 generations of family together creating lasting and loving memories. Throughout the years she loved hearing stories about her grandchildren and great grandchildren as they always brought a smile to her face and made her laugh. Working on her flowers and window boxes brought her happiness as she sat on the back porch visiting with family and friends while listening to her music or favorite podcasts enjoying the nice weather.
Barbara loved the beach and the sun. A daily trip to Nantasket Beach in the summer was the way she spent time with the kids growing up. She passed that love of the ocean and the beach to her children.
She loved working for AAA for over 30 years creating lasting relationships with her friends and coworkers. Being close to home for most of her career there definitely made life more enjoyable. When not working she was an avid NFL and PGA fan. Knowing most of the stats and tendencies of her favorite players she could converse with the most ardent sports fan.
Barbara was the center of the family. Whether it was a formal event, a family dinner or just hanging out together, the event never truly started until Grammy showed up. Giving fashion advice when asked and always dressed "to the nines" her opinions, advice and love will be dearly missed by all.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Pat Roche House, 86 Turkey Hill Lane, Hingham MA 02043.
The Klier family invites friends and loved ones to celebrate her life in the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 from 10:00-11:30 AM. A service will be held at 11:30 AM. Burial will follow in the Holy Family Cemetery in Rockland
