Obituary For Beverly A. Richards
Beverly A Richards of Rockland Massachusetts passed away peacefully on February 25, 2026, at the age of 87.
Beverly was the beloved wife of the late A. Carl Richards. She was raised on the family dairy farm in Dushore Pennsylvania by her parents, the late Louis and Lucy Kinsley, along with her siblings. She attended local schools and worked on the farm before heading off to Mansfield State College. After graduating with a degree in home economics, Bev made her way to Massachusetts where she worked as a home economics teacher at Rockland High School before leaving the workforce to raise her family. When her children were older, she took a part-time job at the now defunct Angelo's Supermarket in Hanover MA. She worked there for many years, making many good friends along the way. After retirement, she spent many happy hours with her friends at the Rockland Senior Center.
Beverly was known for her kind heart. She was a warm and welcoming person with a strong work ethic. She would gladly roll up her sleeves whenever anyone needed a helping hand. Her generous nature was evident every single day as she raised her children, took care of her family, and anyone else who came within arm's reach.
Bev was the family tailor, a talented artist and an incredible cook whose kitchen cabinets were covered with taped recipes. She loved summers at the cottage on Saquish Beach and driving along the backroads of Maine with Carl in the fall. She loved crafting and collecting. She loved the holidays. Her Christmas tree went up sometime after Halloween and came down sometime before Valentine's Day. Most of all, she loved her family. Beverly was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She tirelessly supported and encouraged her children and grandchildren and cherished her great grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving children, daughter Heather Richards-Gay and husband Richard Gay of East Bridgewater, and son Scott Richards and wife Amy Richards (Long) of Rockland, her treasured grandchildren Zacharie Howard and wife Jamie, Haley Gay, Samantha Richards and partner Tyler King, Alexandra Gay, Mariah Richards and Bradley Richards, and cherished great grandchildren Sawyer, Averie and Hunter. Beverly is also survived by her beloved sister Wanda Manoogian and husband Michael as well as many much-lovednieces and nephews. Throughout her life, Bev embraced many others, loving and caring for them as members of her own family.
Our family would like to extend our deepest love and gratitude to special friends Marilyn Long and Kerri Mullin Smith. Marilyn and Bev were buddies and partners in crime for many years. Kerri has long been considered Bev's "adopted" daughter and has been a tremendous source of love and support through the years.
Beverly was predeceased by her beloved husband, A. Carl Richards, her parents Louis and Lucy Kinsley of Dushore Pennsylvania and her siblings Catherine Saxer, Elizabeth Shaffer, Gerald Kinsley, Dorothy Gilroy, Jean Ziegler and Bernard Kinsley, all of Pennsylvania.
