Barbara L. Kraning, 66, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2025 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka. Barb was born on November 3, 1958 in Tacoma, WA to Robert Dold and Norma Williams.

Growing up as an Army “brat”, Barb moved all across the country. Her family would end up in Newark, OH where she would meet her husband, Gordon Kraning. The two were united in marriage on July 8, 1989 in Clyde, OH. They raised their children, Bridget and Adam in Delphos, OH and ultimately landed in Plymouth, IN in 2023 to remain close to their family.

Barb's warm and caring spirit was evident throughout her life. She made a difference through her work with the health department running immunization clinics, as a dedicated school nurse, and as a compassionate nursing aide. Her advocacy for those in need was unparalleled, and she instilled in her family the importance of giving back to the others in need.

Whether she was scrolling on Facebook while enjoying a glass of wine, dancing in the kitchen to Brown Eyed Girl while preparing a meal for her family, or falling asleep to Everybody Loves Raymond, Barb enjoyed life's simple pleasures. In the spring, Barb would tend to her garden to help it flourish through the summer months.

Those who knew Barb knew that she was a feisty, strong-willed women who was steadfast in her beliefs. She always had a smile on her face and encouraged others to look for the silver linings in a situation. Her unwavering faith led her to be a loyal member of Our Savior Lutheran Church until her move to Plymouth.

Barb is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Gordon; children, Bridget (Jeffery) Searer and their children, Minnow and Allyson; and Adam (Jordyn) Kraning and their children, Braxton, Noah, Miah, and Easton; siblings, Kathy, Bob, and Bill Dold; along with many nieces and nephews. Barb is also survived by her beloved yorkies, Molly, Bella, and Miah.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Norma; and brother, Tim Dold.

Barb will be laid to rest in their family niche at Maple Grove Cemetery in Granville, OH on July 26, 2025 at 12:30PM. A Celebration of Life will follow from 3-5PM at the F.O.P., 255 South 6th Street, Newark, OH 43055.
